Footfall analytics for physical stores

How much of what happens in your stores would you like to measure?

  1. We connect your cameras

No new hardware, no building work in the store.

  2. We measure footfall in the store

Processed on site on NVIDIA Jetson. Only anonymous data leaves the store.

  3. You decide with the numbers

Value per visitor, conversion, queues: every number leads to a decision.

01 — Changing the rules of retail

The average ticket tells half the story. Value per visitor tells the whole story.

The receipt tells you what buyers spent. It says nothing about the people who came in and left empty-handed. That is where the margin you can't see is hiding.

Today

Working on receipts

  • Revenue
  • Number of receipts
  • Average ticket
  • Trend over time

Tomorrow

Working on people

  • How many people actually walk in, staff excluded
  • Who comes in and leaves without buying
  • How long people queue, and who gives up
  • The value generated by every person who comes in

Value per visitor equals conversion rate multiplied by average ticket.

02 — An example

Two stores. Same revenue. In your management software, they look identical.

Add just one number, the people who came in, and the story changes.

Store A

€10,000 · 500 receipts · €20 average

People who came in: 800

5 in 8 buy

Value per visitor

€12.50

Store B

€10,000 · 500 receipts · €20 average

People who came in: 2,000

1 in 4 buy · 1,500 leave empty-handed

Value per visitor

€5.00

In store B, 1,500 people a week come in and leave without buying. No report flags it. It isn't a problem: it's an opportunity nobody is looking at.

Illustrative example.

03 — What we measure

Three levers to grow the value of every visitor.

Every metric answers a question that today goes unanswered.

Attract

Bring more people into the store.

  • Time slots and doors

When do people come in, and through which entrance?

  • Dwell time by zone

How long do people stay at the window display, on the floor and at the till?

  • Real entries

How many people actually come in, staff excluded?

Convert

Turn visits into purchases.

  • Conversion rate

    How many visitors become receipts?

  • Qualified visitors

Who is really interested, and who is just passing through?

  • Queues, walk-outs and wait before service

How long do people wait, and how many leave before paying?

  • Zone map

Where do customers stop, and where do they never go?

Optimise

Make better use of time, space and budget.

  • Footfall forecast

How many visitors to expect over the next 7 days, weather included?

  • Promotion effectiveness

Did the campaign bring people into the store?

  • Store comparison

Why does one store perform better than another?

04 — Who it's for

One system, three different answers.

For those running the chain

How each store performs, and why one does better than another.

Value per visitor · Store comparison

For those managing the stores

Where to act this week: shifts, tills, layout.

Queues and waiting · Time slots · Zone map

For those in marketing

Whether campaigns and promotions really bring people into the store, and at what times of day.

Time slots and doors · Promotion effectiveness

05 — How it works

No new hardware. No changes to your infrastructure.

Kontrol Flow builds on what the store already has.

  1. We connect the cameras you already have

Kontrol Flow reads the video streams from the cameras installed in the store.

  2. The analysis happens in the store

An NVIDIA edge device processes the images on site. Video never leaves the store.

  3. We combine it with till data

Entries and receipts together give you conversion and value per visitor. Integration with your POS system (e.g. Quenta) or via API; during the pilot we can also start from an export of your till data.

  4. You see the numbers

Real-time dashboard, and alerts when something falls outside the norm.

06 — Privacy

We measure footfall, not people.

Designed with GDPR in mind from day one.

Anonymous, aggregated data only

Numbers leave the store, not images.

No identification

No recognition of individuals. Demographics are aggregated only, optional, and enabled only after review with your DPO.

Staff are not measured

Employees are excluded from the counts. Kontrol Flow measures customer footfall, not work.

Processed in the store

Images are analysed on site and never sent outside.

How we handle camera data

07 — Our origins

Born inside a real store.

Kontrol Flow was born in the Ammu Cannoli stores in Milan. Every metric was tested in the field, with real customers and real decisions, before it reached your store.

08 — About us

An Italian team, close to your stores.

Vulkano brings together computer vision, artificial intelligence and edge computing. We design, install and run every Pilot Program ourselves.

09 — Pilot Program

30 days of real data from your store.

See the numbers first, then decide. The 30 days start when the system actually goes live.

  1. Kick-off

Installation with no changes to your infrastructure

  2. First data

Dashboard live on the metrics we agree together

  3. Optimisation

    Alerts and operational recommendations

  4. Day 30

Final report and a decision on the other stores

Write to us →
Do I need to replace my cameras?

We work with the IP cameras you already have. We check compatibility together on the first call.

Does video leave the store?

No. Images are processed on site; only anonymous, aggregated data leaves the store.

What about my employees?

They are excluded from the counts. Kontrol Flow measures customer footfall, not staff work.

How do you connect till data?

Integration with your POS system (e.g. Quenta) or via API; during the pilot we can also start from an export of your till data.

How much does it cost?

It depends on the number of stores and cameras. We work it out together after a first call, starting from the Pilot Program.

How many stores do we start with?

One. After the 30 days of the Pilot Program, you decide whether to extend it to your other stores.

What kinds of business does it work for?

Any physical store with customer footfall: retail, food service, services.

Start with one store. Decide with the numbers.

Tell us about your stores: we'll get back to you to work out together where to start.
